It is with the deepest of all sadness that the love of my life my darling Hilary passed away peacefully this morning. Needless to say I am devastated. She is in every note of music that I have ever written over the past 35 years it has been my privilege to have known and loved this remarkable woman. Everyone who met her and knew her were touched by her presence.
My life will never be the same again and I’m so grateful that the last album I ever made with my dear friend Paul Ward is probably the finest thing I have ever been involved in and a fitting tribute to her.
Our thanks as a family go out to all the wonderful carers and nurses that made the final journey of her life so comfortable and relatively pain free. We were truly witnessing the work of angels with these remarkable human beings who give so much of themselves to those in the last days of their time on earth.
A very very special heartfelt thanks to dear Carrie Martin who has been there for much of Hilary’s remaining journey.
