April 2025 Newsflash - From Brush and Stone Vinyl Release
Friday, April 11, 2025

f someone had told me that one day the From Brush and Stone album that I recorded with the mighty Rick Wakeman would be re released 12 years on from it's original conception into this magnificent double gate fold clear vinyl package, I would never have believed them!

My thanks go to Rob Ayling who was determined to re release this timeless collaboration for the simple reason that it he believed it deserved it!
I have so many wonderful memories of my journey with Rick's pieces where I had the luxury of time to add my guitar parts and spend many happy hours recording.
Once I had finished what I believed to be a final addition to one of his piano masterpieces I would invite my late wife Hilary in to have a listen and give me her opinion. In most cases it would pass what I called the "Hilary test' and if it did you could bet your life it was near perfect.
Whilst working on one of the tunes I decided to leave a rather long gap. On hearing this Hilary declared "that gap has to be filled", and fill it I did. She was never wrong and the piece was the better for it!
The sound quality of these expertly mastered discs has to heard to be truly appreciated. Words aren't adequate to convey how superb the production is!
Just holding this album brings back the memory of those golden days of vinyl when one gently placed the stylus down, sat back, and listened intensely to each track whilst pouring over the sleeve notes and admiring the artwork.

What one will notice on removing a disc from it's sleeve is the weight and quality of each one, this is because no expense was spared by Rob to make this the best product possible.
The whole thing surpasses the original CD for obvious reasons and I'm truly humbled to be a part of its creation.Once again my thanks to Rob Ayling for making a personal dream come true for this Troubadour.
