It's only a short set but looks to be a fun night.
Surrounded by moorland and fields on three sides and the sea on the other. Over the centuries ‘Bay’ has seen many a shipwreck in the wild seas and smugglers hurrying between houses at the dead of night.
There are many walks and outstanding views to enjoy, and with much of the coastline now managed and owned by the National Trust and being within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it is one of the most beautiful areas of England.
'Bay’ as it is known locally, is just 5 miles from Whitby, famous for being the home of Captain Cook and regularly visited today by tall ships. With ‘Heartbeat’ country practically on the doorstep, and less than 15 miles from the bustling seaside town of Scarborough, there is always something to do in or around Bay, whether visiting for the annual ‘Folk’ and ‘Victorian’ weekends, or the Gospel weekend in Whitby. Or maybe you will reach Bay and dip your feet in the sea having bravely trodden the 190 mile ‘Wainwrights’ coast to coast walk from St. Bees.
The 'Grosvenor' was purposely built as a hotel in the late 1890´s and is located at the top of the village where the Victorians built their 'superior dwellings' having moved from the cramped 'cottages' in the lower part of 'Bay'.Please check availability of tickets and confirm date / start times with the organiser before setting out, as sometimes changes are unavoidable - thank you.
