The 14th Century Alfriston Clergy House, was originally the vicarage, but is now maintained by the National Trust. It was the very first property bought by the Trust in 1896 and it is a classic example of a Wealden hall house with thatched roof and timber-framed walls. It also has a tranquil garden and orchard on the banks of the Cuckmere.

Opening the show is Rosemary Yung a PIPA (Chinese Lute) instrumentalist who honed her skills at the age of eight and through years of training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Her music is peaceful and therapeutic, and brings a twist of western elements to the classical Chinese style.
