Zither banjo's

Postby Harrysong » Sat Jul 01, 2017 11:25 am

Any fans of the old Zither banjo's?
I only recently got into banjo's....to be honest I always liked them but never owned any and even tried to.

I was given an old Windsor Zither which dated from around 1900 and it was in a shocking state. I spent months restoring it and it is now a superb instrument and sounds incredible. I then came across a number of cheap Zithers from E-bay auctions. All needing a fair amount of work and got stuck into restoring those. I recently found a couple of fretless, nylon strung models from the 1800's which I have restored....5 string and a rarer 6 string. Considering their age, they scrubbed up really well and are both now working great.

Just have to learn to play them properly!

I have moved all pictures of my Zither banjo collection to a new webpage due to the annoying amount of pop up adverts on the old link.
Anyone interested can view my collection here:
