Sad to hear of the passing of Mitch Mitchell yesterday. Mitch was the last surviving member of the 'Experience' and it is hard to believe that all that talent, energy and creativity has now left us. The legacy of such albums as Electric Ladyland will, I am sure, continue to inspire young players in the future as it has for the past forty years. Mitch Mitchell's contribution to this iconic music should never be underestimated or overlooked as he was one of the few musicians who could genuinely hold his own with Hendrix.
RIP Mitch, and thank you for making so much possible.
RIP Mitch Mitchell

Another great loss to music....
Mitch Mitchell was a great musician and his talent and input into the rock genre will be long remembered and sadly missed.
Hendrix was, and still is, an inspiration to guitarists and musicians alike but I think that without the backing of the original Experience it would have been a harder road for him. He had two great musicians backing him up which left them free to explore, without fear, where the music took them. This showed in their music and it expanded ahead of anything at the time.
A sad day for music
RIP Mitch
