Jon Lord RIP.

Postby GORDON » Tue Jul 17, 2012 2:17 am

SO sad to hear of the death of the great composer Jon Lord.

I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly a few years back when our friend Andrew Bernardi invited us to a concert Jon was giving in Lichfield Cathedral. The music was sublime and it was nice to shake the great man's hand.

71 of course is no age to pass away.RIP sir.

My loose connection with Jon was the fact that the bass player with Accolade, Malcolm Pool was in The Artwoods where Jon played in the early 60's.

I too was saddened to hear of this. I saw him at a couple of Deep Purple concerts in the 90s and 00s. His versatility as a classical and rock musician was unparalleled, in my view. A great talent that will be sadly missed.
