My next "Sharing Day" will be in November on Saturday the 4th at my usual venue in Mere Green Sutton Coldfield. My chosen piece for the day will be HEARTSONG.
The format for the day will be a 10 am arrival for tea and coffee,10-30 start with a brief performance of approximately half an hour, (requests are welcomed) followed by a Q&A, a look at sections of HEARTSONG and whatever items present themselves followed a coffee break about midday, then more HEARTSONG. It is a long piece after all!
Lunch from 1 until 2 and then my special guest (to be announced) for a 30 to 40 minute chat/demo. We then crack on with the more challenging bits of the days chosen piece. The afternoon will also be an opportunity to share any pieces you have with fellow group members, solo or duo, and any help or tips with composition(which may well be a piece you are currently working on) I would love to hear it!
The thing I like about the "Sharing Day" format is the very nature of its organic approach, just going with the flow of the students requirements.
It would be really good if some of you fine female players out there would like to attend, because in my experience some of the finest guitar players I have encountered over the years have indeed been women.
If you are undecided as to whether the day is for you, please read the reviews of the last Sharing Day in August. http://giltrap.co.uk/?l=3u3
