Rather splendid interview with GG in R2 magazine...

Postby Trevor Raggatt » Fri Jul 20, 2012 10:31 am

Just got my subs copy of this month's R2 (formerly Rock 'n' Reel) - which has a really good interview with Gordon. Lots of insights into his early years (back to the Accolade days), the Top Of The Pops years and the later solo period. Great stuff. It also explains why, in a parallel universe somewhere, Gordon was bashing out power chords at the Superbowl the other year (sadly just not in OUR universe). Intrigued?

It should be appearing on newsagents shelves around now and, alongside Gordon, there are a host of other really interesting articles. check out independent local newsagents and branches of WH Smiths. It's got a photo of Woody Guthrie on the cover. Here's a quote from the R2 Facebook page...

Issue 34 of R2 magazine is onsale now.

Inside you'll find a special 5-page centenary celebration of Woody Guthrie (which includes chats with Arlo and Nora Guthrie, his kids), plus new interviews with Richard Thompson, Chris Leslie, Alabama Shakes, O'Hooley & Tidow, Altan, Michael Chapman, Gordon Giltrap, Counting Crows, Gemma Hayes, Heather Nova Mystery Juice, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman and much, much more. Also our free CD includes an exclusive track from Fairport Convention plus Larkin Poe, Tarras, The Saw Doctors, Mitch Laddie, Dennis Locorriere and many more. Please visit our website to find out how to subscribe or find your nearest stockist.

R2 (Rock'n'Reel) Magazine

R2 was launched as ROCK’n’REEL magazine in 1988. Over a period of twenty years the original pocket-sized fanzine of somewhat modest ambitions has grown into a fully-fledged, professionally-run, full-colour glossy magazine and, in doing so, earned itself a deserved place within the mainstream publishing market.

Hello,
I would love to read the interview, but am not sure if this magazine is available in here :-( (looks like it could be, but...).
Bye,
Piotr

Piotr,

You can buy individual issues here http://www.terranovamusic.com/shop/index.php?cPath=35&osCsid=d05d91a43685bf53a79985d095fccc3d and they will ship to Europe for the equivalent of £6.50 GBP.

It's Issue 34 you want - with a picture of Woody Guthrie on the cover.

They'll also ship outside of Europe for £9.50 GBP.

Trevor
