This is my first posting on the website so at risk of boring you I will give you a bit of background info. I'm 53 now but started playing at 12 and continued all through the seventies and early eighties. After a long layoff 18 months ago I started playing again. Surprising how you never forget some of the old tricks!
I currently play a Variax 700 acoustic along with my 70's vintage Ibanez and Yamaha acoustics (I have never knowingly sold a guitar!). I use a POD XT live for some effects and I have just got hold of an RC20 loop station partly for practice (it does sharpen up your playing) but mostly for fun!
Gordon was always an influence on my playing and it is good to rediscover these delights on this excellent website.
I do have a question for you all. One of my work colleagues, like me, has started playing again after many years. I lent him my Ibanez to get him started but he decided to buy something decent for himself. A visit to our local guitar shop (Regent in Leamington, an excellent place I think) resulted in our playing many instruments but what shone out was the Stonebridge range. Needless to say one was purchased! I'd be interested to hear any opinions from you if you have any experience of these instruments. Sounded good to (better than some of the more established makes) and was more 'playable' too. Good value for money as well.
Enough from me right now but I will keep in touch and look forward to reading any comments you may have.
Here you can discuss details about instruments, equipment and all those other bits that non-musicians won't understand !
