Gordon,

I really love the orchestra sound you achieve on this brilliant piece using your Variax.

Can you please tell me what you use and the settings you make please?

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Martin. :D

Hi Martin.

Welcome.

I use a BOSS ME50 FX unit which has a backwards effect within the unit on the delay settings. This effect mixed with TONS of reverb and chorus via the volume pedal creates a sort of choral/string sound. Using the volume pedal to swell in the sound cutting off the attack of the notes does the trick.

Depending on what unit you have will of course determine the sound you get.If you attend a show close to where you are I suggest you purchase a copy of CREATING THE DREAM which is a DVD and CD along with TAB and music and performance notes to help you get started!

Be Well and let us all know how you get on...Have fun.

Gordon,

Happy New year.

Thank you for the information on the Boss ME50 settings.
Although not perfect. I have been able to get close the required effect.

Having seen you in Swindon a few times, I equipped my self with Variax, Loop station and ME 50. Played through my Behringer PA it all sounds excellent. (As does my Lowden acoustic).

Thank you for providing continued inspiration.

I look forward to you returning to a venue in North Wiltshire soon.

Keep well.

Martin.
