Roland VG-99

Hi all,

I am currently looking into upgrading my electric guitar gear and I came across the Roland Virtual Guitar system, set up in PMT in Birmingham. I have used the older guitar synth's in the past but this was amazing.

Before I buy, does anyone on here have any experience with this bit of kit?

I will be using it with a Godin LGX with the 13 pin connector.

Cheers,

Clem

I haven't heard the VG-99 but I bought a s/h VG-88 version II on ebay after I saw the Fender VG Stratocaster demo video & started a topic here (see http://www.giltrap.co.uk/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=37 ).

I've barely scratched the surface of what the VG88 can do but, aside from one or two (I've never heard anything less like a violin than the violin patch!), the preset patches are amazing & the options for designing your own are almost too numerous to be able to handle, let alone list here.

One of these days I'll record a few demo clips & post them on a website somewhere. (er, I think I've said that before......)

Anyone know of any VG-99 demo links? I'd love to hear & compare.

Best wishes,
Steve

there are some videos at:

(click on the video button just below the vg-99 image)

I do believe I got a CD or DVD demo from Roland themselves (I'm registered with them as I've got a GR-33) but until I finish painting/decorating the study all my stuff is in boxes, but I'll seek it out asap.
