Hello everyone my name is Andrew Asman
i have joined you all hopefully to discuss any common subjects either musical or otherwise.
My wife Sue died suddenly last May and i am still trying to put my life back together and came to the conclusion that my guitar more than helps.
My brother helped me make some decisions on what i do next and as a thank you I purchased a few Graham Warren Guitars and gave him one as a gift to say thank you s his name is William and Grahams guitars have a W on the headstock.
I noticed on his mantlepiece he had a couple of photos of Gordon with his two Warren Guitars and to cut a long story short this link with guitars and gordon brings me here
I have purchased a VE2000DLX and must say i can hardly put it down its also a nice touch as the truss rod cover has the A logo for Rob Armstrong - but for me its for Andrew
Thanks for reading and i look forward to more chats

Welcome to the forum. Sadly with all the social media applications available this forum doesn't get as much contribution as in the past, though still a good source of discussion and information for those with guitar interests.

As I am sure you will find out if you 'dig around' in some posts in the various categories, not just the 'Anorak' part, there is a wealth of experience and shared opinions around guitars, music and - stating the obvious - Gordon Giltrap's specific works. The breadth of experience runs from old hands to novices who need a little encouragement. Feel comfortable to jump in on a post if you feel you have something to say and don't worry about not agreeing, as long as any exchange maintains respect for differing viewpoints.

Sorry to hear of your loss, but treasure the memories you have and, maybe, one day encompass them in to a piece of music you play, or even compose. Music can indeed be a source of comfort and reflection and can often be shared with others in a constructive way to help keep the memories relevant. Life is about memories.

I don't know Graham Warren guitars and have never handled one of the guitars you refer to, so an appraisal of the instrument, pluses and minuses, would a be a welcome addition to this part of the GG Forum.

I had considered sending this as a 'personal message' 'PM' but thought maybe by posting a direct response it might encourage further comment from others.

Enjoy your Graham Warren guitar - hope your brother enjoys his, and ... is there a performance duo in the making there?

Kind regards

Thank you for your kind welcome

The Graham Warren guitars are handmade by graham himself he started in 2010 to make guitars as he is already an accomplished woodworker and decided to give guitars a go
he now has failing eyesight and can no longer make anymore - he said he has made 38 in total
I have no 1 and no 38 and my brother and his son have no's 25 and 35.
He only has a few left to sell ( only 4 I think) - see Gordons march 2021 diary post as it give some info on how to contact Graham.
Gordon tells me his warren guitar is played on ' the stars look down on linda'

Not much chance of a duet with my brother he suffers from envisima (spelling probably wrong).

I may be doing some open mic nights locally especially as i now have a VE2000DLX which is awesome
even thought I have over 10 other guitars
Thanks you
