Butlins Folk Festival 2012 Skegness

Postby Sue » Wed May 23, 2012 11:02 am

Friday 3oth Nov - Sunday 2nd December inclusive ( Gordon will play on Sat 1st )

Gordon played at the first Festival in 2010 (despite battling through deep snow to get there ! ) and was delighted to get a standing ovation from the 2500 or so audience members. Many people said they knew his name but had no idea what to expect from his current performance. Gordon acquired many new fans that weekend.

Other artists so far announced for the weekend include:

Show of Hands
June Tabor and The Oysterband
The Fureys
Thea Gilmour
Feast of Fiddles
Ashley Hutchings
The Albion Band
Fay Hield & The Hurricane Party featuring Jon Boden & Sam Sweeney (Bellowhead) along with Andy Cutting, Rob Harbron and Roger Wilson
The Travelling Band
Gig Spanner featuring Peter Knight from Steeleye Span
Billy Mitchell Band
Oh Susanna
Moonshee
Shinjig
Pie
Hunter Muskett
Fake Thakray
Merry Hell
Morris On
The Belles of London City

The line up looks great - don't wait for further acts to be announced as accommodation is already selling out - many people booked before leaving last year's Festival !

Ticket prices for the weekend start from £72pp self catering, £104pp Dinner B & B:

Price includes:
- 3 nights accommodation
- Big name live acts including acoustic sets
- Large indoor music venues
- Wide range of restaurants and bars in the undercover Skyline Pavilion

Mike and I are booked and really looking forward to the weekend. We're going Dinner B & B again. The food was all you could eat and surprisingly good and the accommodation was fine too - lovely and warm despite freezing temperatures.

It would be great if there was a large GG contingent in the audience this time. Let us know if you are planning to attend.
