Re: My birthday coming up!
Hi Tom! Hope you have a good time on Saturday, which is of course St George's day. It's a special day for us too, as my Dad celebrates his 90th Birthday and his last surviving brother is 87. You probably already know that the 23rd is William Shakespeare's Birthday too. Looks like your in good compan...

Re: Gordon's albums: what do you listen to most often?
Another tough question Piotr :) At the moment my top 5 consists of (in order): 1 Fear of the Dark 2 Visionary 3 Perilous Journey 4 Ravens and Lullabies 5 Captured from a Point in Time My top ten would then be completed by (in no particular order): Shinin Morn, As it Happens, Remember This, Drifter a...

Re: Recent acquisition
Hi Andrew! My "spirit" days are long gone now, but I instantly recognised the bottle with it's windmill! Lovely place Menorca and we've had some great holidays there :D Sounds as if things are pretty hectic with you both. No worries - just let us know when you might be in our area. Best to...

Re: How to string a Norman B20?
Hi Dave I have the same strings on my Vintage LH-VTG100N travel guitar and I like them - good price, feel good and sound great too :D I tried quite a few different makes and gauges for this guitar before arriving at the Martins. I've never owned a 12 string and I don't know much about the Norman B20...

Hi Dave Welcome to the forum which is a really friendly place and has so much to offer. Like you my guitar playing is not great, but it doesn't really matter - you'll get a warm welcome off other members and the anoraks forum is a great place to ask questions - might be worth posting your query abou...

Reflective Mood..................
.........must be in one tonight, as I'm playing a loop of "Under This Blue Sky", "Answered Prayers" by David Sylvian/Bill Nelson, "On Camber Sands" and "By The Wall" by Tomas Dvorak. Think those tunes all go pretty well together!

Re: Recent acquisition
Andrew, You are indeed a lucky fellow - a great looking guitar with so much GG history. Bet it sounds great too! My recent purchases have been far more modest - a Puretone soprano ukelele which I got from a charity shop for £1.50, and more recently an elctroacoustic ukelele : http://www.amazon.co.uk...

Tom, What a cracking listen! Great selection of tracks too. Awakenings/Robes & Growns - Appalachial Dreaming - On Camber Sands - Heartsong - Is This The Last Song I Write... nice! Of course, it got me musing too on how I might boilsome of my fave Giltrap moments down to a half hour radio show. ...

Re: 40th anniversary of the Visionary
Visionary, PJ and FoTD are all remarkable albums in my opinion and stand shoulder to shoulder with anything else recorded in the 70s or any other time for that matter. Whether the music is stripped down to the basics ie Gordon alone on an acoustic guitar, or given the full band treatment, the compo...
