Re: GG Vinyl

...and I have just added a copy of "Giltrap" on vinyl to my collection :D (never released on CD but my favourite of all Gordon's early vocal albums). I taped it 26 years ago but tape quality deteriorates too.

Re: TIME TO REFLECT

My copy arrived today - yippee. However the cd case is rather in a poor state - all of the four cd holders have most of their teeth broken and floating loose in the case and the tray for the first disc is cracked. The discs themselves are fine but it is rather annoying that they won't be held secure...

Re: TIME TO REFLECT

Nice one Brad. Mine is still being manufactured, I think...not due to be delivered until the end of the month. Patience is a virtue...

Hopefully we'll meet at Davids Hall, South Petherton, now that you are living down south.
Be well

That's a definite, Bob. Anna and I will be there and are looking forward to it immensely. :D

Another new addition...

Today I bought a pre-loved Puerto Rican cuatro that was in the local guitar shop. It's a fun little instrument with 10 strings tuned in 4th: B, E, A, D, G. The B and E are octave strings, the others are unison. I felt a little "off piste" exploration was called for. :D http://i1380.photobu...

Re: TIME TO REFLECT

Any idea why a certain online outlet whose name matches a certain South American river says on their page for it that the release date is September 2nd 2015...?

It's a conspiracy designed to keep us tantalised! Argh! I can't wait until then!?!

Re: Vintage Viator

Update I have had a week (feels like so much more already) love the Viator - it has no right to be as good as it is for the money, quite absurd. It is currently living in the CGCGCD tuning used for tracks like Loren, Mrs Singer's Waltz, The Picnic and The Lord's Seat; but Gordon I have noticed that ...

USB interfaces and recording

Until recently when recording audio (i.e. my guitar playing) I used a Creative Labs E-MU 0404. This gave me two channels, 48V phantom power for my Rode mic and a USB 2 output that I could plug into the laptop and record with using Cubase SE or Audacity. It worked well as a setup (for me anyway) but ...

Re: It's Hello From Me

Welcome indeed. I hope the concert was good (I have no doubt it was far beyond just 'good'). I have done a several public performances doing acting, singing and playing (classical as well as finger style acoustic) but I still get the jitters. It's odd as I feel that I shouldn't and I know the stuff ...

Re: Vintage Viator

Thank you Gordon, and likewise to you and Hilary :D Well, the Viator arrived at around 3pm (thank you Ivor Mairants!) and it is FANTASTIC! It has an amazing voice and is sweet to play. It sounds great in normal tuning and Shining Morn sounds really good on it - it takes the partial capo so long as y...

Re: Vintage Viator

I have been thinking for some time now about a smaller guitar and recent tried a Fender parlour guitar as well as a very beautiful Tanglewood Java parlour guitar...but I keep coming back to the Viator as it is a stunning little instrument, under half the price of the Tanglewood. So I have just taken...

Re: CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

It's been a year of significant changes for me and I can say that you and your music have helped me throughout. Anna's and my relocation to Somerset is under way and we'll be travelling down to our new life on 29th December. We plan to be at the Four Parts Guitar gig you are doing in Somerset in Apr...
