Re: BERT WEEDON RIP.
Gordon, I remember that as a young boy I used to rush home from junior school to watch a programme on ATV. I can't remember what it was called, but it featured Ayshea Brough, a puppet character called Ollie Beak and Bert Weedon! Bert always looked very smart in a suit and didn't really look like th...

He pops up everywhere...!
So there I was reading the Absolutemusic Magazine (other retailer mags are available) when I came across an article about buying an acoustic guitar... Now not being a player myself I was only skimming it when I spotted a photo of Gordon in a sidebar piece. This was the author's assessment of the &qu...

Amazon Reccommendation...
Got an email from Amazon today recommending an album called 'Shining Morn' by some bloke called Gordon Giltrap. Anyone heard of him? Is he any good? Seriously.. some great reviews there... I'm working on a radio and live drama at the moment and am using A Tapestry of Tears for incidental m...

Re: Bishops Itchington - 17/03/2012
Indeed! Leaving aside references to myself, another excellent review from Keith. I felt Mr G was on the very peak of his form in the repartee department and was getting into some comedy riffs worthy of 'stand-up' at times. ... and as Gordon has said... thanks a million for your (and Fiona's) h...

Re: Problems with the Sound Equipment
Hey Mike This picture prompts me to ask a couple of questions that as a sound engineer you may be able to answer? When did miming turn into lip synching and is it a modern phenomena? Cheers Scott Hi Scott! I've had a go at answering your question in a new topic in "More Music". Cheers. Mike

Miming Vocalists
In another forum thread I was asked: "When did miming turn into lip synching and is it a modern phenomena?" So here goes with a shot at an answer... Maybe I'm not up with the current music-speak, but the terms 'miming' and 'lip-synching' mean very different things to me - 'Miming' in our c...

Re: Problems with the Sound Equipment
Mike, that's brilliant! I recall watching a gig in a very small student venue many moons ago when a support-band duo were trying to start their set but couldn't get the bass to work. The sound guy's assistant was all over the stage checking everything - the bass amp, the DI boxes, the cables, the p...

"The Producer's Manual" by Paul White
Just picking-up on Gordon's endorsement of Paul's book in the December news... Santa kindly obliged with a copy on The Day and, although the festivities have only permitted a few quick flick-throughs this book really does look like The Biz. The book is both comprehensive and simple. It's well-laid o...

Re: Bulkington Village Centre
I have fond memories of Bulkington... one of the very first venues at which I provided sound for Gordon. I was hoping to be there on Saturday, but a busy diary made that inpossible. Great to hear that the maestro is still firing on all cylinders! I really must try and get to a concert soon...

Re: Huntingdon Hall - 18th November 2011
Sir Keith... Ever thought of pitching as a review writer for one of the "Qualities"? As ever, a superb review which made me chuckle more than once. I've been privileged to hear a sneak preview of a track from the forthcoming album you mention - beautiful! [Sorry I'll miss you at the ...
