Gordon,
Great news to hear you are on the road to recovery. Take your time to recover as your good health is more important than rushing back just to please us, your fans.
We all only get one chance at this life so make sure you are fit enough to enjoy it.
Kindest regards
Brad

Re: VE2000GG versus VE2000DLX guitars
Mel, Really good to see your update, plus the 'can of words' you have opened on the subject of strings. That is a subject that has been covered elsewhere in this forum, though does no harm in taking it on again. I have used Martin Lifespan light phosphor bronze, also the D'Addario equivalents for mo...

Re: VE2000GG versus VE2000DLX guitars
Mel, I bought the VE2000gg 12 string just over 2 years ago (see my review on the 'Guitar Anoraks Forum - at the moment on page 2) and did so without being able to 'try out' in any music/guitar shops. I am till very pleased (delighted!?) with that guitar and you should bear in mind that it is essenti...

Re: Giltrap guitar, help!
You are welcome to the little bit of background I have been able to give. My VE2000GG 12 does not have the Rob Armstrong signature on the internal label, so there may be some significance to that. Only Rob Armstrong or JHS would be able to give any insight. I must admit that I would be concerned at ...

Re: Giltrap guitar, help!
This is a guitar produced by Vintage (JHS) to a design by Rob Armstrong from a previous instrument built specifically for Gordon. Something of a long sentence but encapsulating the 'essence' of this guitar. Sorry to say it is not a unique instrument in the sense of being a very limited edition - tho...

Re: Sir Terry Wogan
Also very sad to learn of the passing of someone who provided a background to our growing up lives, and sorely missed from the morning radio. I can remember getting ready for work listening to early morning Wogan, preceded by the the late Ray Moore, and that gave a boost to the start of the day. The...

Re: Hi Spot Guitars
One of the members of a group (band?) I played in during the early 1970s had a 12 string Egmond acoustic but that is the limit of my knowledge on Egmond guitars.
I found a link http://www.Egmond.se that might help, or at least start a search point for you.
Kind regards
Brad

Re: Dodo's Dream
I sat reading this post at 02:35 this morning drinking a Lemsip Max (other similar medicinal compounds are available) to try to ease the hacking cough and thumping headache. None of this was due to alcohol consumption but the cold that my wife had the previous week and decided to pass on to me in so...

Re: Vintage Viator - update
I took the plunge and bought a Viator earlier on this year and following the earlier posts here. The new model VTR800PB-USB answers my question about a pick-up fitted model, though I don't think I shall be buying this new model. Not that it doesn't interest me - just an issue of priorities as to how...

Please accept my, and all of those I have introduced to your music, very best wishes for a succesful recovery. We can wait for the next performance until such time as you are fit an...

Re: Gordon's old 1974 Dick Knight 12-string
Trevor, I saw your post just before I was setting off for a meetring with former colleagues in London, on 5th August. I always try to fit in a visit to Denmark Street on my visits to London and your post gave me added incentive to look in on No.Toms. Just looking in the window of that shop brings me...

Re: Guitar Star
John, Guitar players have no exclusive right in commenting on guitar playing and the comments of non-players are just as valid, so of course you are perfectly entitled to comment. Your comments, I suspect, are shared with most, if not all, that read this forum. What is good music for one may not be ...

Re: Guitar Star
Kevin et al, Before I write anything I have to confess that I have skipped through the episodes prior to the final as time has been very tight with other events - both planned and unplanned. However, I did watch the final in full and, on balance, believe that the three who made it there were the bes...

Re: Guitar Star
Kevin, My apologies for not responding earlier to your posting. Life is a little busy at the moment with various activities and will be for the next 2 to 3 weeks, so I am in a 'trying to catch-up' situation at the moment. I am recording the 'Guitar Star' programmes and have only peeked at the jazz a...

Re: Guitar Star
Kevin, This caught my attention a week or so ago so I decided to 'have a look' - so obviously I do have Sky. Surely there can't be just you and me on this forum with that. I try not to get hung-up on semantics though do agree with the comments on the overuse of the word 'star'. It would seem anyone ...
