"Master Craftsmen" CD

Hi Gordon When Em goes out charity shopping she usually manages to find something for me, for example something like a Total Guitar CD featuring yourself. Anyway, a few days ago she came home with a CD called "Master Craftsmen", which for those who don't know is a tribute to Rob Armstrong ...

Hi Folks! Did I hear FOTD and "reproduce it live" mentioned together? (I didn't hear the "no promises" bit...must be old age or selective deafness!). Trevor and Hobo, I'm with you both on this one. I also think the changes made for the CD enhance the original vinyl (very difficul...

Hobo Thanks! I too think it would be great if something existed and could be released. I can remember a video of Gordon on "Tiswas" of all places, playing a Yamaha SG2000 brilliantly. It's an image that has stayed with me to this day and so I can't tell you how pleased I was to see Gordon ...

Question for Gordon - video/film clips

Hi Gordon

Just wondering if any video or film clips of you and the GG band from the 70's exist. If so, are there any plans to release them?

Thanks,

Roger

Planet Rock DAB Station

The Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera is doing a show on Planet Rock called A is for Axe on Friday and Sunday evenings. It features tracks from some of the guitar greats and so might be of interest to some of the anoraks out there!

GBBF 2007

Hi Gordon! Yet again, what a great gig! In some respects it was quite similar to a couple of years ago, as people were gradually distracted from their beer as you started playing and began to gather around the stage. The chatter gradually died down too, with some looks of amazement during “God save ...

Gordon/Russ, Remaining on the subject of strings, do either of you have any thoughts about nylon strings? I currently use D'Addario on my little Hondo, but have found that different strings give different results, particularly on the bass strings. Thanks, Roger PS Gordon, which guitars will be makin...

Gordon,

Excellent news!

Can the SP strings be used on electrics, or will you still be using Ernie Ball?

See you on Thursday.

Gordon, As always well said sir! I'd never come across Bridgett before, so it was nice to learn about another highly talented guitarist who plays both acoustic and electric guitar (can't think who the other one is  ). Best wishes, Roger (&Em) Ps Much as we'd love to, we can't make Andover ...

Hobo/Bob, Sorry that neither of you can make it to the GBBF 2007. When Gordon played at the festival in 2005 it really was a great day in every respect. Never mind, I'll have a half for both of you! Bob, If the Andover gig had been on Saturday we would both have been there, but unfortunately tomorro...

Thanks as always Russ! That's a great point you make about the Baby Taylor - I just accepted the construction because of their name! I'll have a look at Shine and Crafter. All the best, Roger PS Just wondering if you ever make your way across to the Southsea Folk and Roots Festival in August?

Personally I thought he was a pain in the .....! I'm sure that his ego came into it to a certain extent and like so many people in life he's a great talker, but doesn't want to or can't listen. As my Partner Em said, most blokes would love to have some lessons from a talented guitarist and good teach...

Reposted Question for Russ

Hi Russ, I tried to post this question last night at about 10pm, but it never appeared, so here goes again!! I'm thinking about buying myself a steel string acoustic in the near future. I prefer a smaller-bodied guitar, it needs to be available as a "leftie" and some sort of P/U would be n...
