Re: Claffey Handmade Guitar

Yes Trevor that is the guitar, I bought it after contacting Ricky and we went from there. I am not a guitar expert in any way, but this is built to an amazing standard. It looks stunning and I love the long string length and floating bridge which of course effects the overall tone and playability. ...

Short appearance on July 17th

Hi everyone. I'm doing a brief spot at a free charity concert next month on the 17th at the Mitchell Centre. The event is to raise money for teenage Cancer. I'm on about 8 o'clock and am doing just half an hour. This will be my first " official" live appearance since coming out of hospital...

Re: Simon and Patrick 12 String

I'd agree. My wife has a Norman B20 Folk which she bought years ago and which is still a lovely sounding and playing guitar. Any of the guitars from the Godin stable represent really good value for money. I'm sure that I read somewhere that they get subsided tonewoods produced from Canadian forest ...

Re: VE2000GG versus VE2000DLX guitars

Didnt bother tossing a coin just ordered the VE2000DLX got to wait around a week for delivery now Mel Suspect that was the sensible option if saving some pennies isn't a factor. The solid rosewood back and sides and other woods in the DLX will be a higher quality than on the standard where the maho...

Re: Gordon's albums: what do you listen to most often?

This exchange of our "most listened to" pointed me in the direction of Gordon's compositions played by Raymond Burley and thanks to Tom's radio shows, I for the first time heard "Across the Pond", so I am grateful for this. Steve: this is true what you write about people's liste...

Re: Gordon's albums: what do you listen to most often?

Hi Piotr, A good question! It produced a few surprises for me. My list below is in a very rough order, but many of them are so close that it is almost a coin toss where they should be in the list. That said Troubadour (both discs) is the clear winner. Troubadour Ravens & Lullabies Live at the C...

I could do but I haven't got much of the Visionary album. The only track I have is Lucifers Cage.

However, I will look into it!

Thanks for the suggestion

Cheers,

Gordon, did you have some connection with a musical instrument shop called "Fiddlers Green" in Leicester?

Hi Harry.

I have no memory of that shop buddy.

Be well.

Re: What I did at the weekend !

A lovely memory for you Sue. I recorded there with the Wren Orchestra when they did a short version of Quest for the Eye of the Wind Rhapsody. Prior to that I was very honoured to be given a guided tour of the studio by one Cliff Richard, which was lovely because even he was in awe of the place. He sh...
