Re: Charity Auction

HERE, HERE, on all counts! Thanks also to Sue for the Ebay tip-off. Gordon, I note a single concert is still scheduled for 2016 at Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham. Are you still planning to go ahead with this one? I note, as of today that 137 of the 210 available tickets have sold already (2 to yours tr...

Re: Charity Auction

When I return to full health, I fully intend to do a very long overdue fundraising concert for GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL,because aged five years old I nearly died from peritonitis.I was suffering from appendicitis but was misdiagnosed by a very flaky local heavy drinking GP,who told my mother it ...

Re: Announcement Sept 2015

Hi Gordon, A bit behind the news I know, but just to say how completely shocked Jane and I were to hear about your diagnosis. Thinking back, it would certainly explain the tiredness you talked about in the bar at The Fleece last April. Puts my broken leg in the shade, says he attempting a little li...

Re: Dodo's Dream

Hello, I love Dodo's Dream and have had the priviledge to hear it live on three occassions - every time I had goosbumps, but the first time (in St. Ives in 2011) will always be THE live version for me. The recordings with the full band: my favourite is the version from The Band Live 1981. The Dodo'...

Re: Dodo's Dream

I have to say that they all have their own merit but any played on the Variax for me is special as I now own it (aren’t I the lucky one!). I remember trying to get the tabs done for the booklet and CD that Andrew mentions and every time I saw Gordon at a gig he had changed it. Eventually he left it...

Keith my dear friend. I shall miss reading your superbly written accounts of my concerts. Here's hoping that one day I return to full health and can once more step onto a stage somewhere and share these tunes with you all. Let us not forget that it was you who commissioned what I consider to be one ...

Re: Quest - a quick summer poll

Gordon, you say your music has never really fitted in, but isn't that the mark of a true revolutionary genius, years ahead of his time? In 200 years time you'll be pronounced a national hero, I promise you. On a personal level I'd just like to echo the comments of our friends above. Your mus...

Re: Quest - a quick summer poll

From a personal point of view and please don't think this sounds churlish but when I DO get round to listening to archive recordings it reminds me of what my career should have and could have been today if the right combination and chemistry and people were around me at that time to really push all...

Re: Good day

Hello Ian. What a lovely message buddy and SO thoughtful of you to think of me. Was sorry to hear about your beloved's health problems, and when I hear that my music has helped folk through dark times it is truly a humbling experience because I just do what I do to the best of my ability and hope th...

Piotr THANKYOU so much for posting this. Wow what a fantastic version of that old tune of mine.I haven't played it in years and it is indeed good to hear it again. Re: Pierre Bensusan

Pierre Bensusan last night at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall played a programme of grace and passion to brighten the cold October air. This wonderful artist brings his roots to the fore in every note he plays and is a lesson to behold for the thousand notes a minute brigade. Pierre and Doatea remember...

Re: Announcement Sept 2015

Sorry to hear that you have a GIST but very pleased to hear that it is treatable. I have recently had an operation for a hole in the heart and now am back to full fitness. Just goes to show that us old guys have nothing to fear from surgery. Thoughts are with you and Hilary. Be well and keep taking...
