Re: ME50 Volume pedal

Hi Nick, Mike & Gordon, I'm afraid it's not as simple as high or low impedance. The ME50 is a digital effects box so a lot of the functions are carried out in the digital domain rather than analogue. The sequence of the effects varies with the type of expression selected for the pedal (according...

Hi Andrew & Richard, Glad you're enjoying the videos. It really was a fun evening, much more so than the videos show as Gordon is not only a superb musician and entertainer but also a great conversationalist :) I didn't set up the concert, that was done by my long term colleague & friend, Ia...

Hi Gordon, Thanks for the great show at Bridgwater. You were on your usual sparkling form, I though. and were so obviously enjoying yourself :) The rendition of Dodo's Dream was particularly good too, possibly the best of the three I've witnessed so far. I'll have to ask you about that guitar you us...

DMX on Audio Multicore

Hi Russ, I've never tried this but my instincts (along with being an electronics engineer) tell me that it probably wouldn't be a good idea. The DMX Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX512-A has this to say: "Cabling for DMX512 was removed from the standard and a separate cabling standards pro...

Roland VG99

I haven't heard the VG-99 but I bought a s/h VG-88 version II on ebay after I saw the Fender VG Stratocaster demo video & started a topic here (see http://www.giltrap.co.uk/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=37 ). I've barely scratched the surface of what the VG88 can do but, aside from one or two (I've...

Anyone heard of Justin King?

I hadn't when I found this chap on YouTube the other night. If you haven't either, have a look at this clip first. It's a good pop song, but not particularly special...until the guitar solo :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es4wxtn1MdM Then look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf5n0VyZwWY and http...

Nope, not a Hamer either :) OK I'll put you out of your misery. It's a 1979 Washburn Falcon. The upper middle price model of the Wing series, it was made by Matsumoku, the company also resposible for Aria & Aria Pro II guitars, The also did Vantage & some Epiphone gutars. Matsumokwas produci...

Hmm, more English, eh? Well, the Shergold\Hayman suggestions by others are probably right but, if not, the only other one I could think of would be a later model Burns. And, no, mine isn't a GS, GS2 or an Ibanez although it was manufacturered by a Japanese company for an American company :) Steve

It's a bit small! ;) Looks like some sort of Fat Strat with a Hagstrom headstock.

Just for that, I think you should name mine, Russ

Oh the indecisiveness! I bid on a used Variax 600 on eBay but didn't win it, so I was looking at a nice Cherry Sunburst Variax 700 but I didn't really want to spend that sort of money. Then Trever posted about the Roland VG system and how it sounds better than a Variax so I searched eBay for ...

OK, I'll admit it. I've been looking for Variax 600s on eBay though there's no way I can justify spending that sort of money. At least I've been talked out of buying a VG Strat! I look forward to a review from Colin F here when his arrives ;) Hey Hobo, great idea about the tuning. The w...
