The Stables - Milton Keynes in September.

The long awaited return of Mr Giltrap to the wonderful venue of The Stables just outside of Milton Keynes. I have attended many of Gordon's concerts here in the past and have watched in wonderment on all occasions at the skill and craft of an exquisite guitarist. It's always a great occasion at this...

Finding a good guitar tutor?

This is a bit of an appeal if I am honest. I first picked up the guitar in 1984 and as we mostly all do, had a series of lessons each and every week to help me on my way. The tutor was a local guy who would turn up every Tuesday evening for an hour and tab me out whatever I would ask for. This laste...

Re: Gordon Giltrap Guitar Weekend Announced

Hi Sue, I have always wanted to do something like this but wonder exactly how it all works. Have you any information on how the days work? What kind of learning format takes place and what is required of the student in technique or know how? I wanted to do the Clive Carroll course but wasn't sure I ...

That is an absolute 'WOW'. To have the heavens play a part in the concert is kinda mind blowing. :D

Re: Nylon strung guitars

Ah Nylon string guitars. Always loved them. An old guitar teacher of mine from the 80's owned a Giannini 6 string and it was lovely. I bought one from Ebay last year on a whim, but oh what a disappointment. It's been played for about an hour since it arrived. Kind of sad really. I think you really h...

Re: Genesis Extended

I've seen the Hackett (Genesis) concerts four or five times and although the musicians do a very good job of reproducing the sound and vibe of the music, they will always fall short in my view. It is essentially a 'tribute' act with one Genesis member playing songs he had a big or small part in. Wha...

Re: The Stables, Wavendon - 28 / 9 / 2017

Went to this and loved it. Had waited for Gordon to do some live stuff for a while now so was thrilled he was playing near me. Especially loved the moment where Gordon suddenly stopped playing mid song. I think he described it as a 'senior moment' but the ever professional Mr Giltrap simply made a j...
