Stourton Memorial Hall was built by the late Sir Henry Arthur Hoare as a permanent memorial to his son Captain "Harry" Hoare and other local men killed in WWI.
The principle objective of the Hall is to provide a Village Hall for the use of the inhabitants of Stourton for meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure. It is also available for hire by the general public and for limited commercial activities.
The Hall is in the Spread Eagle Courtyard close to the entrance of Stourhead Gardens one of the busiest National Trust properties and a Landscape Garden of international repute. On other sides of the Courtyard are the Spread Eagle Inn, The Ice Cream Parlour and First-View Gallery.
