Having celebrated its 21st year of operation in 1999 as Poole Arts Centre, the facility underwent a complete transformation to be reborn as Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts, reopening in October 2002.

Lighthouse is located in the centre of Poole opposite the bus station, the Dolphin Shopping Centre and is only 5 minutes walk from the train station. We are the largest regional arts centre outside London and in this case size does matter.

The relaunch of the facility saw the introduction of many new features, as well as improved exsiting ones, including the new studio theatre, a ground floor bar and an all new imaginative facade to the building that comes alive at night with an impressive display of lighting. The old first floor bar has been completely transformed and is now a work of art in it's own right, produced by sculptor Danny Lane.
