Re: Bert Jansch
Oh, such sad, sad news. What a truly great loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends, and particularly to the two of you, Gordon and Hilary as I know that you will feel his passing very personally.
Re: Bert Jansch
The only words I can say at this time are on the HOME PAGE and the NEWS PAGE. http://giltrap.co.uk/?l=2aj
Tears have already been shared with friends this day.
Life without Bert Jansch in this world will never quite be the same again. His dear wife Loren must now bear the burden of her grief and the burden of her rapidly failing health.
This is a personal tragedy for us in the Giltrap home today.
Our love and thoughts go out to Bert's friends and loved ones.
He leaves behind a wife and two sons, Kieran and Adam.
Our love to you all.

Re: Bert Jansch
I send my sympathy to all Bert’s family and close friends.
I am one of those who could only marvel at his artistry and will always think of him whenever I pick up my guitar, as I have done since his first album.
RIP

Another massive influence gone. very upsetting. Saw him play in Manchester a few years ago always hoped to see him again. Not to be.

Re: Bert Jansch
I shall probably be devoting the whole of next months NEWS page with my memories of dear Bert, going back to 1966 when I first saw him play at Les Cousins. It was probably one of the finest performances I witnessed from the man.
We are all still reeling from his passing and desperately worrying about Loren.
Be Well friends.

Re: Bert Jansch
At the end of last night's "Later... with Jools Holland" he said that the Friday extended edition would be featuring a tribute to Bert Jansch.
BBC2 and BBC HD - 2350 Friday evening. Probably also on iPlayer.

Re: Bert Jansch
Hopefully Geoff Peters and Gary Burnett will be playing some of Bert's music on their Sunday evening show, which is broadcast between 8 and 10pm on Express FM (www.expressfm.com). Em has asked for "Anji" and "The Wheel", but it will depend on what the guys have on vinyl.
Re: Bert Jansch
The News page set up in memory of Bert has now been updated. I'm sure you will find it both interesting and moving to read about the influence he had on Gordon and their shared history.

Geoff and Gary played "Anji" and "Once I had a Sweetheart" by Pentangle, which they think was the first stereo 45 released in the UK.
