... and maybe that and some of your other 'TV Theme' pieces could form a medley in your concerts Gordon. I know that when I first heard the 'Music for the Small Screen' album, I had a mixture of reactions to several pieces along the lines of "I know this, but I'd never realised that Gordon wrot...

Re: Mandolin Pick-ups?
Not a pickup, Russ, but check-out the Thomann OVID range of mini-microphones. Available with a range of attachment options; I've not yet tried mine on a mandolin, but I'd imagine either the guitar or violin options would suit. The mic is on a mini goose-neck so can be positioned according to taste a...

Re: Huntingdon Hall - 23/11/2012
Too right Gordon! The Mighty Meredith is always a welcome sight at gigs when I'm on sound-tech duties. I know that Keith will always pitch-in with the de-rigging without even being asked; he's done it so many times that he knows exactly what to do with the lightest of direction from me. But far more...

Pick-ups for Nylon-string Guitars
Yesterday, during the workshop in Trowbridge led by Gordon a question was asked about pick-ups for nylon-strung guitars. The question came as a result of feedback with an existing pick-up. Gordon mentioned K&K sound pick-ups. Their website is here: http://www.kksound.com/index.html I mentioned u...

Well said Keith!
All the very best to Gordon and to Oliver. May all your long hours and hard-work of preparation and rehearsal be richly rewarded tonight!
See you at Trowbridge next Saturday....

Deptford... the Musical Powerhouse...
Most of us know that Gordon hails from Deptford and from Gordon's concert chat we've discovered that Spike Milligan and Val Doonican were also denizens of that green and pleasant land... ... I was watching a very enjoyable documentary about Mark Knopfler on BBC4 on Friday pm. During the 'life-story'...

Re: Joni Mitchell
Missed the docu on Joni Mitchell... shame as I always like her stuff. Turning to Jools Holland.... can I give a different perspective? I watched it last week mainly for the Chieftains... but didn't much care for their 'guest' musicians - esp the vocalist. However, I was quite taken with the y...

Re: BERT WEEDON RIP.
Without wishing in any way to take away from memories and respect for Bert Weedon - one of the gentleman guitarists - it looks like we were both sort-of right Gordon - but you more than me! :) : " From 1963 to 1966 'The Five O'Clock Club' met every Tuesday and Friday. The show, which was introd...
